Spectacular
scenery and ethnic minorities of Sapa. The northwest of
Vietnam is a captivating blend of dramatic landscapes and colorful
hill tribes. Sapa is set in a spectacularly beautiful valley
close to the border with China. Its breathtaking mountain
scenery is some of the best in Asia. Ethnic minorities from
many of the surrounding villages don their most colorful
costumes and head for the famous Saturday market and hiking
and trekking opportunities are in abundance.

02/Fri: Hanoi - Sapa (Meals:

Our trip starts with an overnight
train journey from Vietnam's capital city to
the border town of Lao Cai. The night train
departs at
22:00pm. Overnight on the train.

03/Sat: Sapa

The train arrives at the Lao Cai
train station at approximately 06:00. There
will be a vehicle waiting to transfer us to
Sapa. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km
but it takes around 1.5 hours. Once at Sapa,
we will check into Victoria hotel, we have a
freshen up, and have breakfast at the
hotel and then enjoy a free morning to
explore around town. This afternoon at 1pm
there will be a walking tour to the hill
tribe villages of Cat Cat, home to the
H'mong hill tribes minority peoples.
As we walk to the villages nestled in the
valley below Sapa, we will meet some of the
local minority people on their way to and
from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to
share cultural experiences with the families
that live in the area.

04/Sun: Bac Ha Market - Hanoi (Meals:
B)
Rising
to the sounds of morning coming to life for
another lovely day, we breakfast and
head out for a stunning spectacular of
bobbling bazaar. Bac
Ha Traditional Market is considered
one of the most wonderful and colorful
markets in extreme north Vietnam where
thousands of local people in their
traditional attires busily buy and sell the
local produces. Dog, cat, pig, horse... are
all on sales. This is golden opportunity to
take best shots! Afternoon we will have a
pleasant walk to Ban Pho village, home
to flower H'mong people. Opportunity to
interact with friendly local people and have
pleasant walk amongst tribal villages.
Transfer to Lao Cai station for overnight
train
back to Hanoi.

05, Monday : Hanoi - Halong Bay (Meals:
B, L)
We arrive back to Hanoi station at
0500am
Transfer to a mini hotel for a freshen
up. Enjoy buffet breakfast at 09h00am
for a four-hour drive through the Red River
Delta to Ha Long City. Comfort stop en
route for photos and coffee before arriving
to Halong City We then transfer to to
a refurbished wooden sailing junk for a
cruise through the limestone cliffs and
emerald waters of Halong Bay, giving us the
chance to take in the stunning scenery of
this World Heritage Site. While on board we
will be served a sumptuous fresh, local
seafood lunch followed by a swim and
exploring some of the limestone caves in
this area. When the sun come down we drop
anchor for the night nearby a remote island.
