14 day tours traveling from bustling Saigon to the charming capital of Hanoi will help you have an general overview about Vietnam. You will enjoy the cool atmosphere of Dalat and experience the luxury and comfort of Ana Mandara Resort as well as the ancient colonial hotel Metropole Sofitel Hanoi. The northwest of Vietnam is a captivating blend of dramatic landscapes and colorful hill tribes. Sapa is set in a spectacularly beautiful valley close to the border with China. Its breathtaking mountain scenery is some of the best in Asia. Ethnic minorities from many of the surrounding villages don their most colorful costumes and head for the famous Saturday market and hiking and trekking opportunities are in abundance.


DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Saigon Arrival

Meet and pick up upon arrival. Transfer to The Renaissance Riverside Hotel, a five-star hotel on the Saigon River in the city center.  Relax and get over jet-lag before a dinner at The Café Indochine.

Day 2: Saigon City tours - Cu Chi

Half day touring to the city's landmarks: Notre Dame Church, Reunification Palace, Thien Hau Pagoda, Ben Thanh market. Afternoon, tours to Cu Chi tunnels, famous for underground military base built by Vietcong during the wars.

Day 3: Saigon - Dalat

Fly to the lovely hill station of Dalat, a cool escape from the summer heat at 4000 feet. Free at leisure by your own.

Day 4: Dalat Tours

Tour the surrounding areas of Dalat.  Hike to see a hill village and a gorgeous waterfall/swimming area.

Day 5: Dalat - Nha Trang

Bus to Nha Trang. This 200  kilometer trip takes us through the hill country down to the south-central coast.  Stay at the Ana Mandara Resort, a great place to get massages and beauty treatments right on the beach.

Day 6: Nha Trang 

Boat tour to the islands off Nha Trang with the option for diving and snorkeling.

Day 8: Nha Trang - Danang

We will fly to Danang in central Vietnam. A shuttle will take us to the Furama Resort at China Beach--the spot where US troops went for R&R.  The Furama is considered to be one of the best hotels in all of Vietnam.

Day 9: Danang - Hoi An Tours

Day trip to the town of Hoi An--one of the few ancient cities in Central Vietnam that was spared destruction in the war.  In addition to its rich cultural history, Hoi An is famous for its clothing shops that can custom tailor silk clothing to any design you want in just a few hours—and at amazingly low prices!

Day 10: Danang - Hanoi - Sapa

Open time until an afternoon flight to Hanoi.  Transfer to the overnight Victoria Express train to the Sapa region of North Vietnam.

Day 11: Sapa Trekking

Transfer from the train station at Lao Cai to the Victoria Sapa hotel and enjoy an open day to walk the street markets.  Meet for dinner at the Camellia restaurant, known for its expansive menu.

Day 12: Sapa - Hanoi

Trek to H'mong villages and learn about the ethnic minorities in North Vietnam before a return train to Hanoi in the evening.

Day 13: Hanoi

Arrive in Hanoi in the morning and transfer to The Metropole, the finest hotel in Hanoi. We will take a short trip to see Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, leaving time in the afternoon to shop and walk the streets of Hanoi, with a farewell dinner at the famous Opera House Cafe.
