INTRODUCTION
Spectacular
scenery and ethnic minorities of Sapa. The northwest
of Vietnam is a captivating blend of dramatic
landscapes and colorful hill tribes. Sapa is set in a
spectacularly beautiful valley close to the border
with China. Its breathtaking mountain scenery is some
of the best in Asia. Ethnic minorities from many of
the surrounding villages don their most colorful
costumes and head for the famous Saturday market and
hiking and trekking opportunities are in abundance.

Day
1: Hanoi - Lao Cai At
21:00 Pick up by taxi at your hotel and residence in Hanoi and
transfer to the Hanoi train station to board night train to
Lao Cai. Stay overnight on the train. Night

2: Lao Cai - Sapa - Trekking The
train arrives in Lao Cai station at around 05:30 am. Our local
tour guide and transportation will pick up and drive Sapa.
Having breakfast at a local restaurant and then we leave Sapa
behind and start trekking15 km with our local guide. The first
part is on the road but we soon turn to the right and walk on
a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from
here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai San, Lao Chai.
Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the
Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their
traditions and way of living. They have their own language and
wear traditional indigo blue clothing. Have lunch with H'mong
family and after this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m)
to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of
about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in
Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of
their old customs have been lost but many women still wear
traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green colour. The
Zay houses are built in wood and bamboo with clay floor. We
stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van and have dinner

3: Sapa Morning
trek to Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dzao hill tribes. After
touring around the village and we transfer back to Sapa by
Jeep. Free at leisure and stay overnight in Sapa Meals:

4: Sapa - Lao Cai
Free
at leisure to relax by your own. At 17:00, we transfer you
back to Lao Cai to take night train back to Hanoi. Overnight
on the train.

arrival in Hanoi at about 05:30 AM on Wednesday, you will
arrange transportation by your selves back to your hotel.
