Sabaidee!, Welcome to Vientiane! Upon arrival in Vientiane, the capital city of Laos, you will be met and welcomed by a local guide expert. Privately transferred to hotel in the city centre. Checking into your accommodation at our recommended hotel and you will start your Laos Cultural Tour with a visit to the famous Wat Sisaket, the oldest original temple in Vientiane, which features remarkable frescoes and over 6,000 images of the Buddha. Nearby is Haw Phra Kaew, which contains some of the finest Buddhist sculptures and artefacts in the country. You’ll continue on to Wat Phra Keo which doubles as a museum and displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art. Walk past the Presidential Palace, which formerly served as the French governor’s palace, to gain an insight into the town’s colonial past. Stop at Wat Simuang and make a wish while circling the Angkorian-era pillar three times. Return to your hotel and you will spend your evening at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast at the morning and followed by a short visit to another famous city landmark. It is Phra That Luang stupa. The Vientiane's iconic stupa was built by King Sethtathirat in 1566 and is now considered a national symbol. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, before taking a 25km drive to the south of Vientiane in order to visit the Xieng Khuan Buddha Park. Built in 1958, the park is a fanciful sculpture garden dotted with Buddhist and religious images. A highlight is a quirky giant concrete pumpkin with a three-level interior representing Hell, Earth and Heaven. There is plenty of time to stroll around the park to view many of these surreal and ornate statues. Back in Vientiane, we stop-off at the weaving home-studio of an American textiles expert. Following a visit to Vientiane as part of a U.N. project to promote traditional Laos weaving, she established Lao Textiles Studio. Now employing over 40 local weavers, the studio creates naturally dyed and woven silk pieces reflecting traditional and diverse Lao designs. A guided tour allows us to observe the entire traditional weaving process. Return to your hotel and you will spend your evening relaxing. Overnight at hotel.
Rise with the sun this morning, breakfast and followed by the airport transfer to take a morning flight north to Xayaboury - One of Laos' elephant capitals, Sainyabuli or different name as Xayaboury is a prosperous town which is famous for rugged landscapes with forested mountains, and it is known for the production of rice, cotton, peanuts, sesame, maize and oranges backed to the east by an attractive range of high forested ridges. This province is home of the renowned elephant conservation center. Nothing as unforgettable as the clever elephants of Xayaboury and after checking into your bungalow, enjoy a typical Lao lunch and then take a tour of the elephant hospital. From there, you can watch the resident mother and baby at the nursery. The mahout of the mother stays close by while she and her baby have a bath and play. The mother trusts the mahout around her offspring and even lets him play with her a little bit. When the mother and baby have drunk enough and returned to the forest, you will take the boat back to the Center for the hospital visit. Our Laotian Vet Assistant or our Biologist will Introduce you to their world and tell you more about common and uncommon injuries and their respective treatments. It is also the perfect time to ask any questions you have about the biology of the elephants.
After the elephants have washed themselves, you will have the opportunity for some soft interaction with the mahouts by your side. Get a feel for the elephant’s amazing skin and prickly hair, and experience up close the dexterity of their trunk. Now it’s time for them to walk back to the forest. After a short trek the mahouts will decide on a place where the elephants can graze for a while. The guide will tell you a little about the background of each elephant. They have all worked hard before they came here. See if you are already able to recognize the elephants while observing them.
Before dinner, take a moment to take in the surroundings from one of our viewpoints. You can also go for a swim in the lake, take out a canoe, or visit the museum where one of the staff will give a small presentation on our conservation efforts. During meal time, feel free to ask your unresolved questions to the staff and share one of our delicious Lao style cocktails!
Breakfast and you will meet up with the elephants in the forest. After spending the night grazing in the jungle, it is time for another bath. Enjoy strolling together with these magnificent creatures in their natural environment and you'll really interact with these incredible mammals. A six-hour scenic journey will take you to the Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge. Sitting on the banks of the Mekong, the Sanctuary Pakbeng Lodge is midway between the World Heritage Town of Luang Prabang, and Huay Xai, the main border crossing between northern Thailand and northern Laos. Both towns are reachable by boat, within a day. Check in, rest and refresh before a delicious and picturesque dinner overlooking the Mekong River and lush surrounding jungle.
Breakfast at the restaurant overlooking the mighty Mekong river and observe local fisherman as they begin their day’s work. Then, take a boat downriver cruising to the vibrant UNESCO World Heritage city of Luang Prabang. A glorious mix of golden temples, crumbling French provincial architecture and mosaic of multiculturalism make this locale one to remember. After checking into your accommodation you will spend the evening relaxing. Luang Prabang is also famous with very colorful night markets. Explore it, take in the city lights and capture the best of the intriguing city has to offer.

Go out to wander the Luang Prabang Night Market - Gorgeous little Luang Prabang in Laos is quite the tourist hot spot these days yet still retains its sleepy Laos charm and the Luang Prabang Night Market is one of the best of it’s kind in the world and delughts tourists with it’s crafts, trinkets and sreet food, but every day you’ll see market activity on the streets. Luang Prabang markets are fascinating and diverse at night and packed with interesting street food to try while lined with chic little restaurants. Let’s explore.
For early risers, you'll enjoy a special dawn visit to watch the ceremony of monks collecting the alms. As the sun rises, long lines of orange-robed monks walk barefoot through the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. Afterwards you’ll return to the hotel for breakfast.
Relax for a while after breakfast and today is spent with a comprehensive city orientation. Start at the former Royal Palace. You’ll then continue on foot to visit Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief, and Wat Sensoukarahm, which features a dazzling golden façade. The morning tour ends at Wat Xieng Thong. Return to your hotel to have a lunch break.
At 16:30, you will also participating another special ritual ceremony, the Baci Ceremony. As evening falls, you’ll have the rare opportunity to witness one of Laos’s oldest traditions, the baci. A ritual based on mixed animist and Buddhist beliefs, the baci is performed to call back escaped spirits to the body. The Lao people believe this is an important ritual to hold before major life events, such as births, weddings and long-distance travels, as well as for proper greetings and farewells. Breakfast at hotel and followed by is a visit to the Ock Pop Tock, a non-profit organization that aims to preserve traditional weaving techniques. Weaving was once a prevalent skill that provided a significant source of income to many Lao families, but today it is in decline due to the evolution of modern technology. On a short tour, you’ll learn the process of silk weaving, from dyeing to the final stages of loom weaving. For your final stop of the day, we’ll ride back to town along the Mekong to the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre. Dedicated to the rich diversity and culture of the ethnic minorities of Laos, the center displays traditional costumes, tools and artifacts alongside fascinating written histories.
Kuangsi Waterfall Experience
After your lunch, travel out of Luang Prabang for about an hour to the idyllic Kuang Si Waterfalls. You will get the opportunity along the way to visit a Bear Rescue Centre, which is a sanctuary for the region's endangered black bears. At Kuang Si Waterfall, take the time to drink in the beautiful natural surroundings. The thick jungle surrounding the falls is spectacular to explore on foot. If you’re feeling adventurous, walk to the top of the falls on a steep trail. Stunning views over cascading water await at the top. Kuang Si Falls also has numerous turquoise pools that are perfect for swimming. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Luang Prabang.
On the last day of your Luang Prabang holiday, your morning will be free for some last-minute sightseeing or shopping before your private car meets you at the hotel for your scheduled transfer to Luang Prabang International Airport where you will take your outbound flight to next destination.
