Your crew welcomes you at the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel jetty at 10:00 am with cold towels and a refreshing drink as your Song Xanh private sampan sets off for its leisurely cruise on the waterways around Chau Doc towards Long Xuyen, traveling along a narrow canal past monkey bridges and peaceful villages. Hearty lunch is served on board before arriving in Long Xuyen. Visit Tiger Island, a small island that was once the home of Vietnam’s former president - Ton Duc Thang. Take a stroll around the park surrounding the museum and cycle around the island for a better look. Your last stopover before sunset is at a Vietnamese home to gain insight into how the locals live. The owner will welcome you and a candlelit dinner will be served. Enjoy your first night on board the Song Xanh on the Hau River
Breakfast is served on board at 7:00 am while your sampan cruises downstream. Arrive in Sa Dec in time for a stroll around this charming town. Visit one of the town’s highlights, the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, a real-life character in the celebrated novel and film “The Lover” by Marguerite Duras. The small town is well worth exploring as it played an important role in the development of the Mekong Delta. Large Chinese and Khmer communities were established here, while the French also left their mark on the local architecture. As a result, many religions are represented side by side: a Cao Dai temple, a Catholic church, a Chinese temple and Vietnamese pagodas. Lunch and dinner are served on board. We begin cruising at 6:00 am towards Cai Be. Observe life as it plays out on shore - people going about their daily activities against picturesque landscapes - while your crew serves breakfast onboard. Stop at various points along the way for a look into some of the cottage industries of the region: a brick factory and local food production like coconut candy and puffed rice (the local equivalent of pop corn), small home-based businesses that provide a living for the river people. Your cruise ends at Le Longanier Restaurant. Lunch is served in this exquisite colonial-style villa set in a lush tropical garden by the river, surrounded by fruit plantations, a glimpse into the Indochina of yesteryear.
Breakfast and followed by a morning drive to visit Cu Chi Tunnels. Discover the incredible network of underground tunnels at Cu Chi, the Viet Cong’s strategy to victory in the Vietnam War, then you will return to the city to begin a short city tour with your private tour guide. You will discover Vietnam's most exciting and bustling metropolis of Ho Chi Minh on this interesting half day tour. First stop to visit Notre Dame Catholic Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Break for lunch at famous PHO 2000 and then you will also visit the gorgeous 19th-century temple is dedicated to the goddess Thien Hau, and always attracts a mix of worshippers and visitors who mingle beneath the large coils of incense suspended overhead. Back to the hotel to relax and at 06:45, embark on the Bonsai cruise and will whisk you away on a wonderful evening of wining and dining on a calm, cerulean river. A creative menu, an unparalleled atmosphere with musical highlights, and the energy of Saigon will add up to one unforgettable experience. Overnight at hotel.
Breakfast and transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport to catch a scheduled flight to Danang. You will be met and transferred on a private vehicle to the hotel in Hoi An. Settling into your accommodation and you will spend your rest of the day relaxing. Overnight at hotel.
In the morning, you will enjoy a boat trip from "Vy's Market Restaurant" to Hoi An's colourful central market. Tour of the market with an English speaking guide followed by an interesting and informative tour of Vy's Market Restaurant, watching live cooking demonstrations with actual involvement and many food tastings. After two hour hands-on cooking class you will enjoy your lunch there. After lunch, you will enjoy a guided walking tour to visit Hoi An town, going through the Old Quarters to see the town's landmarks of Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient Assembly Hall, Phuc Kien Temple and then we take a river trip and you will enjoy the scenery along the Thu Bon River and the general view of Hoi An Ancient Town. It transforms itself at night, when many of the shops hang lanterns outside. We will transfer you back to the town and rest of time at your own leisure. Hoi An is well know for souvenir shopping with great prices and also famous for its large number of tailor shops, so if you want to get a cloth tailor made to measure, this is the time to do it.
